Our Steel Grades Explained
At Great Barrier Fencing and Gates, we are proud to offer products that are different to others available online. We have spent countless hours perfecting our gates and fences to offer the strongest product on the market.
Our gates are a combination of both steel and aluminium, making them high strength and at the same time light weight and durable. Our gates come fully assembled and ready for fast and immediate installation, unlike others available on the market which come in a kit you have to put together yourself. Ours are fully assembled, which will save you hours in the installation process and give you a much stronger and more durable gate solution.
Please see the below table for an explanation of what’s included when you purchase one of our great products.

Steel Grade 1
Steel Grade 1 features 50x50x1.6mm DURAGAL AS/NZS1163-C350L0 galvanized steel, known for its exceptional strength and anti-corrosive properties. This steel is treated to resist rust and ensure long-lasting durability, making it ideal for various environmental conditions.
We pair this with 65x16mm aluminium slat infill, which includes 10mm gaps between each horizontal slat for a modern, elegant look that allows for airflow and visibility. The top rail and side stiles are precision mitred and welded, with all welds meticulously ground, sanded, and zinc-treated before powder coating. This thorough preparation process enhances both the structural integrity and corrosion resistance of the final product.

Steel Grade 2
Steel Grade 2 features 65x65x1.6mm DURAGAL AS/NZS1163-C350L0 galvanised steel, offering the same exceptional strength and anti-corrosive properties as Steel Grade 1 but with a larger profile for increased durability and stability. This high-quality steel is treated to resist rust, ensuring long-lasting performance and reliability in various environmental conditions.
Complementing this steel grade is the 65x16mm aluminium slat infill, with 10mm gaps between each horizontal slat, providing a sleek and modern appearance while allowing for effective airflow and visibility. The top rail and side stiles are precision mitred and welded, with all welds carefully ground, sanded, and zinc-treated before receiving the powder-coated finish. This meticulous process enhances the structural integrity and corrosion resistance of the final product, ensuring both durability and a refined aesthetic.
